We are pleased to announce the addition of 55 new populations to our Global Population Database, for a current total of 452 population, including 292 indigenous population samples and representing 130,233 individuals. Sample sizes are listed in parentheses.

Sample results for representative genetic profiles from our global population database have been updated to reflect newly added populations and our enhanced seven group Continent Match analysis. These updated sample results are available here.

As we expand our global population database, we continually refine our algorithm to provide our customers with state of the art personal ancestry analysis. Using proprietary statistical methods, we have now identified seven well defined clusters present in our global population database:

• Sub-Saharan African: Africa south of the Sahara Desert.
  
• European: Europe, the Middle East, and Northern Africa.
  
• North Indian: Northern India, centered in the Uttar Pradesh region. Many Europeans exhibit influence from this cluster.
  
• East Asian: East Asia, centered on the region of China and Japan.
  
• Northern Native American: Native Americans from Alaska to the Navajo and Apache in the Southwestern United States.
  
• Latin American: Native Central and South Americans, with recent influence from Europe.
• South Asian: South Asia, centered on the Indian Subcontinent.
